Let’s be real, how often do you have time to sit down and enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning? Maybe you take a few hot sips and then you have to head out the door with the cup still nearly full. Or maybe you finish your first cup, but also want to take one on the go. You can bring your mug with you and risk a spill or you can invest in a tumbler.
Even though it’s a small investment, finding the best tumbler can be hard. You need something that’ll keep your beverage at the temperature you enjoy it at (whether hot or cold) and you need something that stays in perfect shape while you’re out and about (I.e. it won’t collapse or spill).
What Makes a Good Tumbler?
Durability: Tumblers are made for traveling, but you’d be surprised to see how easily some break after one accidental drop (not that you should be throwing your tumbler all over the place). While plastic or glass tumblers might have prettier designs or are more lightweight, stainless steel tumblers are a better bet and will last you a long time.
Insulation: This is the big thing to look for when purchasing a tumbler. Vacuum insulation helps keep your beverage at the temperature you want it at. This means that there’s an insulating layer between the inner and outer stainless steel or glass of your tumbler. If you’re just looking for a tumbler to bring your iced coffee around, then this might not be as important.
No-Drip Lid: The whole point of traveling with a tumbler is to make sure your drink stays with you throughout the day. If drops keep spilling out while you’re moving and grooving, then you might unintentionally end up with an empty cup. Some tumblers will have screw-on lids with straws, others will have sliding barriers.
